A Chandausi court has fixed August 28 for hearing the Shahi Jama Masjid–Harihar temple case after the Muslim side argued that the matter is already pending before the Supreme Court. The dispute, which earlier triggered violence in Sambhal, remains one of the most sensitive temple-mosque cases in Uttar Pradesh.

The court scheduled the next hearing for October 25, where a ruling may be announced. The Hindu side seeks an Archaeological Survey of India to validate claims about the site.
A civil suit filed by Hindu Sena President Vishnu Gupta in the Ajmer District Court claims that the Ajmer Dargah was built over an ancient Shiva temple and seeks its restoration as Bhagwan Shri Sankatmochan Mahadev Virajman temple. The case is set to be heard on October 10, challenging the current religious status and ownership of the site.

The Rajasthan High Court acknowledged Sharma and Gattani’s right to religious activities at a temple but emphasized the need to avoid harm to religious symbols. To resolve a dispute involving a religious leader, the court directed both parties to plant trees at the temple as a unique resolution and emphasized the duty to uphold India’s diverse heritage and culture.
