Former Supreme Court of India judge A.S. Oka said the judiciary has not fully met public expectations, warning that self-congratulatory narratives overlook the real struggles faced by common litigants within the legal system.
Today, on 26th November, the 76th Constitution Day, CJI Surya Kant said Article 32 is the heart and soul of the Constitution, stressing that justice becomes real only when citizens can access courts without hurdles. He urged steps to bridge the gap between rights and reality.
CJI BR Gavai emphasized that judges must uphold justice and serve the cause of freedom rather than pursue personal wealth. He warned that misconduct by even a single judge can tarnish the reputation of the entire judiciary.
