The Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana’s Privilege Committee has given a clean chit to 17 lawyers and M3M directors in the alleged bench hunting case before the High Court, citing no evidence of wrongdoing. The committee said media reports misrepresented the court proceedings and found “no mala fide intent” among those involved.
The Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana has given a clean chit to Senior Advocates Rakesh Nehra and Puneet Bali in the bench hunting probe. The Committee said no evidence surfaced against them and their integrity remains untarnished.
The Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana has issued notices to 16 advocates regarding allegations of bench hunting at the High Court. Senior Advocates Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Mukul Rohatgi will also be asked to respond to the Privilege Committee.
