He argues that the law is unfair to the Muslim community and violates their fundamental rights. The Uttarakhand High Court has revoked a directive requiring an interfaith couple in a live-in relationship to register under the yet-to-be-implemented Uniform Civil Code (UCC) of Uttarakhand. The court had earlier granted police protection on this condition but modified the order after learning that the UCC had not been notified despite Presidential assent.
