The Delhi High Court has sought a medical report on PFI leader E Abubacker’s health after he requested treatment in a private hospital instead of AIIMS. The NIA opposed the plea, calling AIIMS the best medical facility.
The Supreme Court of India dismissed AS Ismail’s interim bail plea, citing the availability of physiotherapy treatment in Tihar Jail. The Delhi government assured the Court that proper medical care, including physiotherapy, could be provided. Ismail is accused under the UAPA for allegedly radicalizing youth and inciting unrest against the government.
The Supreme Court of India granted bail to former PFI leader Abdul Sathar, involved in a conspiracy related to the 2022 murder of an RSS worker. The court emphasized that ideology shouldn’t result in imprisonment and criticized the use of custody to prevent future crimes, allowing Sathar to remain free during trial.
Today(on 30th August),The Delhi High Court denied interim bail to Popular Front of India (PFI) leader OMA Salam, who was arrested under the UAPA. The bench, comprising Justices Prathiba M Singh and Amit Sharma, ruled that Salam’s plea did not justify the granting of interim bail.
