Today, On 1st July, The Andhra Pradesh High Court has stayed all investigations and legal proceedings against YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for two weeks. This is in connection with a party supporter’s death during his recent Palnadu visit.
Today, On 27th June, Andhra Pradesh High Court has granted interim relief to former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in a rally death case, observing, “Despite all precautions, accidents still happened even at the Kumbh Mela.”
In the Singayya death case, former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Reddy moved the High Court to quash the FIR. YSRCP leaders YV Subba Reddy, Perni Nani, and Vidadala Rajini also filed similar petitions.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has moved the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking Z+ security. Meanwhile, the court deferred to June 16 its decision on whether SC/ST Act accused can directly seek anticipatory bail from the High Court.
Former AAP MLA Naresh Balyan has withdrawn his bail plea after Delhi Police filed a supplementary chargesheet under MCOCA, naming him as an accused in an organised crime investigation. Balyan’s legal team argued against the charges, claiming lack of evidence, but police opposed bail, asserting ongoing unlawful activity justifies MCOCA application.
A Delhi court directed the police to file a chargesheet in the MCOCA case against Naresh Balyan by April 2. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja granted 20 days of custody to the police. The order came after a plea by special public prosecutor Akhand Pratap Singh on March 12. The case remains under active investigation.
The Supreme Court today (18th Dec) reserved judgment on a petition advocating for a comprehensive rehabilitation framework and enhanced victim protection in human trafficking cases. Senior Advocate Aparna Bhat argued the lack of effective institutional measures, emphasizing the need for a specialized agency, while the Union contended existing laws and structures are adequate for addressing trafficking.

The case pertains to interim bail amidst charges of organized crime.
