Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai took oath as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court on Friday, marking a significant milestone in her judicial career and leadership journey. Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath of office and secrecy at a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan in Patna.
Five newly appointed Supreme Court judges took oath on Tuesday before Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant, taking the Court closer to its full sanctioned strength of 38 judges and strengthening the country’s highest judicial institution.

Justice Sanjiv Khanna was sworn in as the Chief Justice of India on Monday, succeeding Justice DY Chandrachud. He has a notable judicial track record, including key rulings on electoral integrity and political issues. His tenure as the 51st CJI will last until May 2025, with a salary of Rs 2.8 lakh per month.
