The Supreme Court dismissed an NUJS faculty member’s sexual harassment complaint against VC Nirmal Kanti Chakrabarti on limitation grounds but ruled the allegations must remain in his professional record. Judges said, “It is advisable to forgive the wrongdoer, but not to forget the wrongdoing.”
Today, On 3rd March, The Delhi High Court provided relief to NUJS regarding the award of a degree in its suspended Business Law course. A Bench comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela issued a notice to the concerned student, Kapil Mishra. The court also stayed contempt proceedings against the university’s Vice-Chancellor.
