Today, On 5th February, The Bombay High Court dismissed a petition challenging the election victory of Congress MP Varsha Gaikwad. The plea was filed by rival candidate Asif Siddiqui, who alleged electoral malpractices during her campaign. The court found no merit in the allegations and rejected the case. This decision upholds Gaikwad’s win amid political scrutiny.
More than 60 candidates from the INDIA bloc have filed petitions contesting the Maharashtra election results, alleging serious irregularities. The Sarpanch of Massajog village in Maharashra’s Beed district, Santosh Deshmukh, was kidnapped and killed allegedly for opposing an extortion attempt. The brother of the deceased Sarpanch, Santosh Deshmukh, has approached the Bombay High Court, accusing state minister and NCP leader Dhananjay Munde of connections with a key suspect. The petitioner is seeking Munde’s removal from the cabinet and the arrest of the minister’s close associate.
