A Mumbai court refused to discharge Nawab Malik’s family-run company in a money laundering case tied to Dawood Ibrahim, citing “sufficient material on record” to frame charges. The court said rent collected through the firms constituted “proceeds of crime.”
Today, On 28th November, Sameer Wankhede, former NCB zonal director, petitioned the Bombay High Court to transfer an atrocities case against NCP leader Nawab Malik to the CBI, citing police inaction on his August 2022 complaint. Wankhede claims this inaction has caused mental distress and humiliation for him and his family due to Malik’s derogatory remarks.
