Karnataka High Court: Mediclaim Reimbursement Must Be Deducted from Compensation Under MV Act

The Karnataka High Court ruled that compensation for medical expenses under the Motor Vehicles Act must deduct amounts received through mediclaim policies. Hanumanthappa’s initial compensation was reduced from Rs 6.73 lakh to Rs 4.93 lakh after Rs 1.8 lakh, received via mediclaim, was subtracted from the awarded medical expenses.
