Justice Shree Chandrashekhar was officially sworn in as the new Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office at Raj Bhavan, attended by top state officials and dignitaries.

The Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa condemned senior state officials for failing to welcome Chief Justice of India BR Gavai during his visit. They passed a resolution demanding immediate action against those responsible for the protocol breach and called for an inquiry into security denials faced by its members at the airport.
Vice President Dhankhar reacted to CJI Gavai’s concerns over protocol issues, saying, “I am also a sufferer.” He emphasized that following protocol is not about personal status but about respecting constitutional institutions and traditions.
CJI B.R. Gavai expressed strong displeasure over a protocol lapse during his first visit to Maharashtra after taking charge, stating, “If it were someone else, Article 142 would have been invoked immediately.”
Yesterday, On 7th October, the Bombay High Court mandated departmental action against a Mumbai Magistrate for approving the detention of a man without documented justification. The court criticized the lack of legal compliance, stating magistrates must ensure arrests are founded on facts. The state was ordered to compensate Rs. 25,000 to the detained individual.
