A Bengaluru Special Court has reserved its order till January 22 on the Lokayukta’s ‘B-report’ seeking closure of the MUDA land allotment case involving CM Siddaramaiah and others. The court has also directed the physical appearance of all accused on January 17 while probes by Lokayukta and ED continue.

Today, On 24th September, under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, a corruption investigation against former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was approved by the Governor, upheld by the High Court. However, the court denied prosecution approval under Section 218 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, emphasizing safeguards for public officials.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar defended Chief Minister Siddaramaiah against allegations following the High Court’s approval for an investigation into a site allotment case. He accused the BJP of orchestrating a political conspiracy and asserted that Siddaramaiah is innocent. The state government plans to appeal the High Court’s ruling.

Today, On 9th September, The Karnataka High Court extended the stay on trial court proceedings against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the MUDA case until September 12. The case involves alleged irregularities during his tenure as Chairman of MUDA. The court postponed the hearing on Siddaramaiah’s petition challenging the Governor’s approval for his prosecution to the same date. This extends temporary relief to the CM as the legal battle continues.
