Supreme Court quashes FIR against Mohan Babu and Vishnu for a 2019 ‘dharna’ in Andhra Pradesh. Court says they were exercising their right to peaceful protest despite the Model Code of Conduct.
The Supreme Court cancelled the criminal case filed against actor Mohan Babu and his son Vishnu Manchu over a 2019 student protest in Tirupati. The Court said there was no crime found and they were only using their right to protest.
New Delhi, February 13: The Supreme Court has granted anticipatory bail to veteran Telugu actor and former MP Manchu Mohan Babu in a case related to the alleged assault of a TV journalist.Mohan Babu had earlier approached the Supreme Court after the Telangana High Court denied him anticipatory bail on December 23. Before this, the Supreme Court had provided him with interim protection from arrest.
Today, On 9th January, Actor, director, and producer Manchu Mohan Babu has received relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has directed that Mohan Babu should not be arrested until the hearing on his anticipatory bail plea is completed. It is known that an attempt to murder case was filed against Mohan Babu in connection with an attack on a journalist.
