Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has approached the Supreme Court of India alleging that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made divisive and hate-filled remarks by referring to the removal of “Miya” voters from electoral rolls. The petition claims the statement targets Muslims, misuses a derogatory term, and seeks strict directions to prevent constitutional authorities from making such remarks in the future.
