The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has requested the Supreme Court of India to reschedule the NEET PG 2025 examination to August 3, 2025. The application emphasizes the need for a fair and efficient examination process and seeks approval for this proposed date to alleviate uncertainties faced by medical aspirants nationwide.
The Supreme Court of India has promised swift hearings concerning NEET PG 2024 candidates’ petitions regarding result normalization and exam fairness. Chief Justice BR Gavai assured that the matters will be addressed soon, raising hopes among students for timely justice as admit cards are due on June 2, 2025.
New Delhi, May 5 – The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Central Government and other authorities to respond to a petition challenging the decision to conduct the NEET-PG 2025 examination in two different shifts. A bench of Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan issued a notice and said, “Issue notice, returnable one week,” while agreeing to hear the plea filed by seven medical professionals.

The Supreme Court’s decision allows the panel to finalize its comprehensive report, addressing key issues in the exam’s administration and highlighting security lapses, while ensuring improvements in transparency and efficiency.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has urged Union Health Minister JP Nadda to address concerns about NEET-PG 2024 by ensuring adequate exam centres in every state. This move aims to prevent medical aspirants from facing long travel distances and associated stress. Tharoor highlighted the challenges faced by aspirants and emphasized the need for accessible exam centres and a single test on the same date nationwide.
On Thursday(18th July),The Supreme Court heard petitions for a re-test or cancellation of the 2024 NEET-UG exam due to an alleged paper leak 45 minutes before the exam at certain centers. The NTA claimed the leak occurred just before the exam. The court demanded concrete evidence of systematic impact and indicated it would consider a re-test if justified.
