The NIA has approached a special Mumbai court to impound the passports of Rona Wilson, Mahesh Raut, Anand Teltumbde, Gautam Navlakha, and Hany Babu. The court has adjourned the matter to October 9 for the defence response.

NEW DELHI: On February 6, 2025, the Supreme Court of India postponed the hearing on the bail pleas of advocate Surendra Gadling and activist Jyoti Jagtap, who were arrested in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case. The bench, consisting of Justices M M Sundresh and Rajesh Bindal, also deferred the hearing on a petition filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) challenging the bail granted to activist Mahesh Raut by the Bombay High Court.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday (18th Dec) has adjourned Surendra Gadling’s bail plea in the 2016 Surjagarh iron ore mine arson case until January due to his counsel’s request for more time to review the state’s reply. Gadling faces serious charges, including those under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, related to alleged Maoist connections.
