The Consumer Commission in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar held postal authorities liable for delaying money transfer to an 80-year-old retired man’s widowed sister. The Commission ordered Rs 3,000 compensation and Rs 2,000 costs for hardship caused.
The Mumbai Police is seeking murder charges against lawyer Jhanvi Gadkar in a 2015 hit-and-run case. The Public prosecutor argued that Gadkar, being a lawyer, was aware of the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol but still did so. The incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The hearing has been adjourned to October 1.
