Today, On 29th December, The Supreme Court stayed the Delhi High Court’s December 23 order and said Kuldeep Singh Sengar “shall not be released,” noting, “Notice issued… several substantial questions of law arise,” and seeking a counter-affidavit within four weeks.
The Supreme Court ruled that the Unnao rape survivor will continue to receive CRPF security due to ongoing safety concerns, while security for her family and witnesses was removed post-conviction of Kuldeep Sengar. The court advised those feeling unsafe to contact local police for assistance. Sengar is appealing his conviction.
Today, On 3rd February, The Delhi High Court granted one-day bail to Kuldeep Singh Sengar for his cataract surgery. This marks the third time he has been released on medical grounds. The court’s decision allows him temporary relief for the procedure. Sengar had previously been granted bail for medical reasons.
