The Supreme Court ruled that the Unnao rape survivor will continue to receive CRPF security due to ongoing safety concerns, while security for her family and witnesses was removed post-conviction of Kuldeep Sengar. The court advised those feeling unsafe to contact local police for assistance. Sengar is appealing his conviction.
Today, On 3rd February, The Delhi High Court granted one-day bail to Kuldeep Singh Sengar for his cataract surgery. This marks the third time he has been released on medical grounds. The court’s decision allows him temporary relief for the procedure. Sengar had previously been granted bail for medical reasons.

Today, On 17th June, A Delhi High Court judge has recused from hearing the plea of former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar to suspend his sentence in the Unnao rape case. Sengar was convicted for the 2017 rape of a minor and is currently serving a life sentence. The judge did not provide specific reasons for stepping aside from the case. The matter will now be assigned to another bench for further proceedings.
Delhi High Court today (23rd Dec) has extended expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar’s interim bail for four weeks, allowing medical consultations at AIIMS following his life sentence for rape and 10-year term for custodial death. Despite opposition from the survivor’s lawyer, health concerns influenced the decision. Next hearing scheduled for January 27, 2025.
