The Gujarat High Court has granted seven days’ parole to Radheshyam Bhagwandas Shah, one of the eleven men convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in the 2002 Bilkis Bano case. Justice Sanjeev J Thaker allowed the parole on a personal bond and conditions, including surrender to jail on expiry and periodic reporting to the police. The convictions were upheld up to the Supreme Court.
