Today, On 20th November, The Delhi High Court has stayed the proceedings against BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor in a case linked to his social media post sharing a POCSO-related FIR. The court’s order brings temporary relief while the matter awaits further examination.
The Delhi High Court has refused to discharge TV Today Network in a criminal defamation case filed by BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri over a 2011 Aaj Tak report, upholding the Magistrate’s order. The Court ruled that once summons are issued in a summons trial, the Magistrate cannot recall or annul the order.
The Delhi High Court said free speech must not be misused to insult or humiliate others, stressing that “free speech should therefore not trample on dignity and vice versa.” Justice Ravinder Dudeja cautioned influencers and netizens to post responsibly, noting that online content can cause lasting harm.
The Delhi High Court has asked Congress MP Shashi Tharoor to respond to BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s petition challenging a lower court’s dismissal of his defamation complaint. Chandrasekhar claims Tharoor made false statements regarding voter bribery during the 2024 elections, which allegedly harmed his reputation. A hearing is scheduled for September 16.
New Delhi, March 21 – The Delhi High Court has declined to advance the hearing on the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) plea in the money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. Justice Ravinder Dudeja, while addressing the request on Friday, stated that the court was dealing with several pending cases and it would not be possible to reschedule the hearing at an earlier date.
