The Supreme Court has agreed to examine a plea by the SCBA seeking a dedicated welfare fund for advocates practicing in the Apex Court. The Court observed that such a fund is “the need of the hour” and issued notice to the Centre and Bar Councils.
“There is no shortage of LPG,” Attorney General Venkataramani told the Constitution Bench as it revisited the 1978 industry ruling under the Industrial Disputes Act, with a nine-judge Bench led by CJI Surya Kant hearing submissions on Tuesday.
The Supreme Court agreed to list a plea on reduction of NEET-PG eligibility criteria along with the main pending matter. The Bench directed that the case be heard together on Monday to ensure a common and consistent decision.
