A Thane court acquitted a rickshaw driver accused under the POCSO Act for allegedly outraging a 17-year-old girl’s modesty. The court ruled due to lack of sufficient evidence.
Banaras, UP: A government doctor, Dr. Anamika Singh, testified before a fast-track court on Friday(17th Jan) regarding the sexual assault case involving a student from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Dr. Singh stated that she observed scratch marks on the private parts of the victim during her medical examination.
The Delhi High Court quashed a case against a 61-year-old man accused of outraging a woman’s modesty, after an amicable settlement. The judge, Justice Mendiratta, emphasized that continuing the case would be an abuse of the court process. Instead of monetary costs, the accused was directed to plant 30 trees, emphasizing the importance of the settlement.
