Rashid’s appeal challenges earlier charges and seeks to excuse a delay in his petition. The next hearing is scheduled for July 29 to address these issues.
The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya for appointment as Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, replacing Justice Vibhu Bakhru. Currently the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Upadhyaya’s appointment follows his legal career, including roles in the Allahabad High Court and state legal counsels.
