The Karnataka High Court ordered State tax authorities to refund GST collected from Divyasree Tarbus Builders Private Limited, retaining only the mandatory deposit under Section 112 CGST Act, granting relief under Circular No. 224/18/2024-GST pending GST Appellate Tribunal constitution.
The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) has been established by the Ministry of Finance to address the increasing disputes between taxpayers and the Revenue Department. It will have a principal bench in New Delhi and 31 state benches distributed across various regions. The tribunal is expected to expedite dispute resolution and reduce the backlog of pending appeals.
