The court emphasized that the matter, which has been dragging on for years, must be settled soon.

The Court reprimanded the Governor for initially refusing Ponmudi’s reappointment, emphasizing that its orders must be followed. Ponmudi, a former minister, was able to regain legislative membership due to the Court’s temporary suspension of his conviction.
