This decision was made by a bench comprising Justices AS Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan, who clarified that lawyers should only check the document’s authenticity if they have valid reasons to doubt it.

The Delhi High Court today (12th Nov) has quashed a lookout circular against Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri, following the nullification of an FIR related to alleged fraud and forgery valued at Rs 81.3 crore. The couple had faced legal challenges after internal investigations by BharatPe led to accusations of financial misconduct.
The Supreme Court upheld the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s decision for CBI to reinvestigate 169 nursing colleges accused of fraudulent operations. The Court dismissed appeals against this order, allowing parties to raise issues before the High Court. The colleges were cleared previously, but allegations of bribery led to the re-investigation with additional oversight measures.
The Karnataka High Court dismissed SFIO’s case against Vijay Mallya and Captain R. Gopinath, citing lack of jurisdiction under the Companies Act, 2013 to retrospectively apply to offenses under the Companies Act, 1956. The court emphasized proper approval of the merger, preventing fraud allegations from being revisited through criminal prosecution.
On Wednesday (20th March): MS Dhoni filed a case against former business partners, alleging they cheated him of around Rs 16 crore by opening cricket academies without his consent and not sharing profits. A court in Ranchi has directed the issuance of summons to the accused, who allegedly breached their agreement with the former Indian cricket captain.
