The Supreme Court has sought actor Karisma Kapoor’s response on a plea filed by Priya Kapur seeking access to divorce-related records between Karisma and her late husband Sunjay Kapur. The documents have been sought for use in an ongoing succession dispute over Sunjay Kapur’s estate pending before the Delhi High Court.
The Supreme Court dismissed a long-running inheritance dispute after the only witness to the mother’s will admitted he knew nothing about it, making the will legally invalid. The Court ruled that the property must now devolve under natural Hindu succession, allowing the son to inherit his mother’s share.
The Delhi High Court has granted time till December 24 to Karisma Kapoor and Rani Kapur to file written submissions in the Sunjay Kapur estate dispute. The case will be taken up further after final arguments are placed on record.
