The Delhi High Court has temporarily halted the eviction of 115 families in Okhla by the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department, which issued eviction notices despite lacking legal ownership of the land. The next hearing is scheduled for August 4, allowing residents to challenge the notices deemed arbitrary and illegal.
Today, On 28th March, The Supreme Court advised HD Kumaraswamy to approach the High Court regarding the eviction notice issued to him in a land grabbing case. The court clarified that he was not a party to the contempt proceedings linked to the notice. Kumaraswamy is expected to present his case before the High Court for further legal recourse. The matter has sparked fresh political and legal debate.
Actor Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra have moved the Bombay High Court challenging ED’s notice directing them to vacate their house in Mumbai’s Juhu area and a farmhouse in Pune in connection with a money-laundering case. The pleas came up for hearing Today (Oct 9) before a division bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Prithviraj Chavan. The court issued notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and posted the matter for hearing on Thursday (Oct 10).
