The Delhi High Court issued a notice on 10th May, to the deceased sanitation worker’s wife in response to the Delhi Government’s appeal challenging the order for enhanced compensation. The court instructed the government to pay Rs 30 lakh within six weeks, as sought by the woman in accordance with Supreme Court directives on manual scavenging victim compensation. The case is scheduled for the next hearing in October.
