The Supreme Court of India has issued a contempt notice on a petition filed by the Bar Council of India against Dhanya Kumar Jain after allegations that his criminal complaint made to police contained derogatory and contemptuous statements.
NEW DELHI: Today, 24th Feb, The Supreme Court of India directed that all First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against YouTuber Savukku Shankar be combined for investigation. However, the investigation in the main FIR, which was registered on May 3, 2024, at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Coimbatore, will continue separately.
The Supreme Court confirmed Felix Jerald’s bail and criticized the Madras High Court’s condition mandating the closure of his YouTube channel, stating it was “unwarranted and extraneous.” The ruling emphasized that while the closure requirement is lifted, other bail conditions remain in place following Jerald’s arrest linked to a controversial interview.
