Delhi district court lawyers withdrew their strike after Police Commissioner Satish Golcha assured that police officers will physically appear in courts to give evidence. Bar leaders said their immediate demand was met, though BNSS amendment remains a long-term goal.
The Bar Council of India has urged Delhi bar associations to withdraw their indefinite strike from September 8, stressing that most concerns over police witness video conferencing have already been addressed. BCI Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra said repeated strikes harm litigants and weaken the bar’s credibility.
