The coordination committee of Delhi’s district court bar associations has announced a full strike on November 6, protesting the alleged false implication of advocate Vikaram Singh in a murder case. Lawyers say the Gurugram STF’s action is an attack on the independence of the legal profession.
Today, On 6th September, BCI Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra urged the Delhi Bar Association to end its indefinite strike, stressing that repeated abstentions are causing grave hardship to litigants, under-trial prisoners, victims of crime, and advocates eager to perform professional duties.
The Coordination Committee of All District Courts Bar Associations of Delhi will take a final decision on the ongoing lawyers’ strike against the LG’s notification allowing police to give virtual testimony. Advocates and court staff await the outcome as the strike enters its fifth day.
All Delhi district court lawyers will abstain from work on August 22-23 to protest a notification allowing police stations to record evidence. The Bar calls it “arbitrary, unlawful and anti-justice.”

The Bar Council of India removed Sanjeev Nasiar, AAP’s legal cell head, due to doubts about his LLB degree’s authenticity. AAP criticized the decision as politically motivated. The BCI emphasized integrity in the legal profession and referred the case to the CBI, highlighting concerns over professional ethics and accountability.
