Mumbai: The Bombay High Court heard arguments regarding the custodial death of Akshay Shinde, an accused in a sexual assault case. Senior Advocate Manjula Rao, appointed as Amicus Curiae, emphasized that the police should have immediately registered a First Information Report (FIR) after Shinde’s death.
Today, On 16th January, Kuldeep Sengar approached the High Court, seeking suspension of his sentence in the case related to the death of the Unnao rape survivor’s father. He has requested the court to delay his prison term while his appeal is pending. Sengar was convicted in connection with the father’s death, which occurred under suspicious circumstances. The court will now review his petition to decide on the matter.
Delhi High Court today (23rd Dec) has extended expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar’s interim bail for four weeks, allowing medical consultations at AIIMS following his life sentence for rape and 10-year term for custodial death.
