Today, On 27th November, The Centre has filed a curative plea in the Supreme Court challenging the 9-judge ruling that upheld States’ authority to tax minerals. This move revives a major federal dispute over mineral royalty, pricing, and constitutional powers.
The Supreme Court on October 8, 2025, dismissed the Union Government’s plea to modify the 2014 Shatrughan Chauhan guidelines for death row convicts. The Bench said the plea lacked merit and reaffirmed that procedural fairness under Article 21 cannot be compromised.

Sisodia has been in custody since February 26, 2023.
