The Delhi High Court ordered restoration of the Cockroach Janta Party’s X account after the Centre withdrew its objection. The government stated the account was blocked during NEET examinations to prevent panic among students and parents, but the circumstances no longer existed after the exams concluded.
A PIL before the Allahabad High Court sought an NIA and ED investigation into Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke, alleging a coordinated digital campaign affecting public order and requesting suspension and blocking of all social media accounts linked to the satirical organisation.
Today, On 29th May, The Delhi High Court refused to order the immediate restoration of the Cockroach Janata Party’s X account, noting that some posts appeared slightly offensive. The bench said the matter required a holistic consideration after hearing the government and the platform.
