Today, On 29th July, CJI Gavai has issued contempt notices to a lawyer and litigant for making defamatory remarks against Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya, stating that the judiciary will not allow judges to be unfairly targeted with baseless allegations.
Today, On 26th July, CJI Gavai confirmed he won’t accept any government position after his retirement on November 24. He stated he will instead take up consultation and arbitration, while speaking at the inauguration of the Late T R Gilda Memorial E-Library at the Amravati District and Sessions Court.
CJI B.R. Gavai, during a heartfelt visit to his native village Darapur, announced he won’t take any post-retirement government role, choosing instead to reconnect with his roots.
