SIR to Create Fresh Voter List in Tamil Nadu, Says Election Commission to Madras High Court

The Election Commission informed the Madras High Court that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) will prepare a new voter list in Tamil Nadu. Unlike the annual SSR, every existing voter must submit fresh details for verification.

Today, On 7th August, The Madras High Court dismissed a PIL challenging the appointment of senior IAS officers as Tamil Nadu government spokespersons, stating the appointments did not violate any law, and imposed a cost of Rs.1 lakh on the petitioner.

Rajasthan High Court Rejects PIL for Live Streaming Court Proceedings

The Rajasthan High Court dismissed a PIL seeking live streaming of court proceedings, citing the availability of video conferencing facilities. The division bench rejected the plea, emphasizing the existing provision of video conferencing. While some other high courts have embraced live streaming, the Rajasthan High Court will continue providing video conferencing facilities.
