Industrialist Anil Ambani has assured the Supreme Court he will not leave India without prior permission and will cooperate with investigators in the alleged Reliance Communications bank fraud case being probed by the ED and CBI.
Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi framed Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi in Central Bureau of Investigation Land-for-Job case, toward a trial. Special Judge Vishal Gogne cited conspiracy, cheating, and corruption offences, directing personal appearances and rejecting video conferencing without court permission.
A Delhi court has listed the land-for-job case linked to alleged Railway appointments in exchange for land for trial and ordered day-to-day recording of prosecution evidence from March 9. The case involves former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his family members and other accused, with charges already framed under corruption and conspiracy laws.
The Delhi High Court has directed the State government to take immediate steps to ensure that Parent-Teacher Associations are properly formed and functioning in all private schools in the capital.
The Court noted that non-constitution of PTAs deprives parents of a collective voice, especially in matters related to school fees and governance.
The Delhi High Court questioned why Union Bank issued a fraud-related show cause notice to Jai Anmol Ambani after Reliance Home Finance’s resolution plan was already approved by lenders and the Supreme Court. While refusing to stay the proceedings, the Court directed the Bank to hear Ambani and pass a reasoned order, subject to the High Court’s final decision.
