The Gujarat High Court has extended Asaram Bapu’s temporary bail until July 7 on medical grounds, allowing his lawyer more time to submit required documents in his 2013 rape case. Asaram is serving a life sentence for raping a disciple between 2001 and 2006 and faces charges in another case.
Today, On 25th June, Naresh Goyal, the founder of Jet Airways, requested an extension of his medical bail due to poor health and the recent loss of his wife to cancer. He was granted interim bail earlier on medical grounds after being arrested for money laundering. Goyal’s wife had also been implicated in the case but was granted bail due to her age and health.
The Supreme Court today referred Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea for bail extension to the Chief Justice of India, seeking guidance on hearing scheduling. Kejriwal is seeking a seven-day extension for medical tests due to weight loss and health issues. He was originally granted interim bail until June 1 in a money laundering case.
