Today, On 19th December, The Karnataka High Court relaxed Bhavani Revanna’s bail conditions, allowing her to visit Hassan and Mysuru. Justice M. Nagaprasanna approved her request to travel to these districts for 15 days. This decision changes the earlier restrictions placed on her bail. The case remains a topic of interest as legal proceedings continue.
The Supreme Court confirmed Felix Jerald’s bail and criticized the Madras High Court’s condition mandating the closure of his YouTube channel, stating it was “unwarranted and extraneous.” The ruling emphasized that while the closure requirement is lifted, other bail conditions remain in place following Jerald’s arrest linked to a controversial interview.
Today(6th September), The Supreme Court stayed a Madras High Court order requiring YouTuber G Felix Gerald to shut down his channel ‘RED PIX 24×7’ as a bail condition. This directive was previously imposed due to his arrest for airing an interview with derogatory remarks about women police personnel.
The Supreme Court expressed strong displeasure over a Patna High Court bail order directing that the accused be released only if the victim stands as a surety for his release. Apex Court said it was “very unfortunate” that the accused, who was ordered to be released in July 2023, was still languishing in jail due to the such an “absurd condition”.

The Court emphasized that while there have been instances where such conditions were imposed, they cannot be a prerequisite for bail.

This comes after the Court expressed concerns about potential privacy infringement and directed the release of the accused on interim bail with modified conditions.
