The Supreme Court of India agreed to hear the Enforcement Directorate’s plea challenging anticipatory bail granted to Anup Majee in a West Bengal illegal coal mining and theft-linked money laundering case and issued notice seeking his response.
The Supreme Court issued a notice on Monday(11th Nov) to Mohammed Javed, an accused in the 2022 beheading of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal, and to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) following a petition filed by Kanhaiya Lal’s son, Yash Teli.
The NIA appealed to the Supreme Court against a Kerala High Court decision granting bail to 17 members of the PFI linked to the 2022 murder of RSS leader Srinivasan. The agency emphasizes concerns over investigations and seeks a consolidated hearing for its 17 Special Leave Petitions regarding the case.
