On June 11, Prayagraj Municipal Corporation demolished 151 illegal temporary advocate chambers, leading to protests by lawyers demanding alternative arrangements. The demolition followed prior notices and continued a campaign against encroachments. After escalating tensions and damage to property, talks commenced, with a proposal for permanent accommodations for displaced advocates being discussed.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Rs 680 crore advocate chambers and parking at Allahabad High Court, emphasizing the equal importance of litigants in the justice system alongside judges and lawyers. He highlighted infrastructure improvements, support for advocates, and the goal of enhancing justice delivery through integrated court complexes.
Today, On 31st May, CJI B R Gavai said, “Constitution should be credited for keeping country united during crises,” while speaking at the inauguration of new advocate chambers and a multi-level parking facility at the Allahabad High Court in Uttar Pradesh.
