The Delhi High Court directed Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit to re-file his defamation suit against AAP leaders Atishi and Sanjay Singh. The court denied him additional time to pay the required court fees. Dikshit had sought Rs.10 crore in damages over alleged defamatory remarks made during a press conference before the Delhi elections. The case will proceed once the filing is completed.
Today, On 22nd January, BJP MP Parvesh Verma filed a Rs.100-crore defamation suit against AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann over alleged false statements. Verma claims the AAP made baseless accusations to influence voters, while Kejriwal criticized Verma’s remarks on Punjabis and demanded an apology. Verma pledged to use any awarded damages for the development of the New Delhi constituency.
Today(10th Sept),The Supreme Court is expected to rule on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail pleas and his challenge to his CBI arrest in the alleged liquor policy scam. Kejriwal has filed two petitions: one contesting the denial of bail and the other opposing his CBI arrest in the corruption case.
