A woman lawyer faced removal from the Chief Justice of India’s courtroom after she persistently refused to leave, despite the bench’s repeated instructions.

The incident unfolded when the lawyer attempted to make an out-of-list oral mention before the bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant.

She alleged that her close friend, whom she referred to as a brother, had been murdered in a Delhi guest house while she was in Mumbai.

She further claimed that a police officer, who had initially refused to file her FIR, was now in charge of investigating the murder case.

The Chief Justice intervened, suggesting she file a formal petition for the matter to be reviewed properly.

In response, the lawyer said,

“I’m in depression, I will do that …”

The Chief Justice then recommended that another bar member could help her with the necessary legal steps.

Despite the court’s move to the next case, the lawyer continued to present her arguments.

When a female Court Marshal approached to escort her out, she loudly protested, shouting,

“Don’t misbehave, don’t touch me.”

Justice Ujjal Bhuyan cautioned her, saying,

“Listen to what the Chief Justice is saying.”

Nonetheless, she continued her statements, expressing concerns for her safety and insisting she needed toput it in the ears of this court.”

Another female advocate in the courtroom urged her to maintain decorum, reminding her that they were both members of the same profession.

The lawyer retorted sharply,

“Don’t speak to me like that,”

She persisted in raising her voice, disrupting the session.

After a prolonged struggle and multiple warnings, the lawyer was finally escorted out of the courtroom, allowing the proceedings to resume in order.
