New Delhi: Advocate Vipin Nair elected as the President of the Supreme Court Advocates-On-Record Association (SCAORA) on Monday, following a competitive election held at the Supreme Court bar lounge. Nair secured his position by defeating his closest competitor, Advocate Devvrat, with a decisive 88 vote margin, marking a significant victory in the association’s leadership race.
In the same election, Advocate Amit Sharma achieved a notable victory in the vice-presidential race, outpacing Advocate Diksha by a substantial margin of 152 votes. This win highlights Sharma’s strong support base among his peers in the legal community.
The role of the President of SCAORA crucial as it involves spearheading initiatives that can influence legal practices and policies at the national level. The President also plays a key role in liaising with the judiciary and other legal institutions to address issues that affect advocates-on-record, thereby ensuring that their rights and needs are adequately represented.

Additionally, the role of Secretary fiercely contested, with Advocate Nikhil Jain emerging victorious. Jain won by an overwhelming margin of 485 votes, showing strong support from the association members.
