NEW DELHI: A lady judge who works as an Additional District Judge in Jharkhand has filed a case in the Supreme Court of India. She has done this because she was not given child care leave, even though she asked for it.
The case was brought to the attention of the Supreme Court bench, which included Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai and Justice AG Masih.
They listened to the matter and gave permission to hear the full case in the coming week.
“List on Monday,”
-said CJI Gavai, meaning that the case will be officially taken up next Monday.
While presenting the case, the lawyer for the judge told the court some important facts.
The lawyer said,
“She is under Jharkhand High Court. She is a single parent.”
This shows that the woman judge is the only person taking care of her child, and she works under the control of the Jharkhand High Court.

She is now asking the Supreme Court to look into the matter and give justice, as she believes that denying her leave for child care is unfair, especially since she is doing everything alone as a single mother.
The case is likely to highlight important issues related to the rights of working mothers in the judiciary, especially those who are single parents and need special support to raise their children while fulfilling their professional duties.
Now, all eyes are on what decision the Supreme Court will take when the matter is heard next week.
