“The NEET exam has now undoubtedly been exposed as a scam, with its tentacles reaching different parts of the country. Unless the Enforcement Directorate takes cognizance of the matter, or the Supreme Court directs the Enforcement Directorate to take action, the accused will not be brought under the stringent provisions of the PMLA,” the application noted.

NEW DELHI: Recently, Students have approached the Supreme Court regarding alleged irregularities in the conduct of the undergraduate National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG). They have filed an application, led by Shivangi Mishra and represented by advocates Mathews Nedumpara and Usha Nandini, urging the Supreme Court to involve the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case.
The petitioners argue that the ED is obligated to take cognizance of, investigate, and ensure punishment for those responsible for the question paper leaks. They have called for an investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

This plea was filed even though the Centre announced that the NEET case had been transferred to the CBI on Saturday. The petitioners are also advocating for the cancellation of the entire test, arguing that the question paper leak discovered by the Patna Police necessitates a re-examination conducted in a foolproof manner.
“The question paper leak unearthed by the Patna Police leaves the authorities with no choice but to cancel the entire examination and conduct it again in the most secure manner,” the application stated.
The Supreme Court has scheduled the next hearing for July 8.
