Veteran actor Aamir Khan and director Kiran Rao, the film’s producers, also attended the screening. The idea for this event came from CJI Chandrachud’s wife, Kalpana Das, who suggested it as a powerful tool for sensitization after watching the film herself.

Sharing his thoughts on the initiative, CJI Chandrachud said-
“This initiative aims to sensitize the Supreme Court staff, which is why we are organizing this screening. Many activities at the Supreme Court often go unpublicized, such as our 24/7 Ayurvedic clinic for staff treatment and relaxation. This screening is also an opportunity for members to bond.”

The screening of Laapataa Ladies, which is streaming on Netflix and has received international acclaim, underscores the Supreme Court’s commitment to both judicial excellence and the well-being of its staff. This event is intended to enhance cultural and social awareness within the Court, contributing to a more inclusive and empathetic environment.
