The program is anticipated to last between 45 to 50 minutes, celebrating significant milestones in India’s legal history and honouring exceptional contributions to the legal profession.
For more than fifty years, the SCBA has been commemorating Law Day, recognizing senior advocates who have completed 50 years of practice and those who have made notable contributions to legal scholarship through their published works.
The event also honors advocates who achieve the top two positions in the Advocate-on-Record (AOR) examination.
Notably, Hon’ble Ms. Justice Indu Malhotra (Retd.) sponsors “The O.P. Malhotra Award,” which is presented annually to the top performers of the AOR examination in memory of her father.
The SCBA highlighted the importance of November 26, 1949, the date when the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India, which subsequently came into effect on January 26, 1950. Since then, the SCBA has regularly celebrated Constitution Day, promoting respect for the nation’s foundational document and recognizing the legal community’s essential role in upholding constitutional values.
Through this request, the SCBA urges the Hon’ble Judges to approve the proposal and provide support for the successful organization of the event.
